30% Marsanne, 30% Roussanne, 20% Viognier, 20% Grenache Blanc

Laurent Clapier is one of few growers showing that biodynamic practices can be applied on a larger scale - he has 52 hectares planted with indigenous varieties planted on a mix of clay, limestone and galets roule´s, providing characteristic Southern Rhone warmth. Elevage in underground limestone caves help give character and typicity across Laurent’s cuvees, with whites and reds sharing a distinct herbaceousness.

A blend of Marsanne, Roussane, Viognier and Grenanche blanc, co-fermented to encourage better integration of flavours.

Essentially a light orange wine, with an hour or two of skin contact occurring in the transportation of the grapes. Some of the golden colour also comes from the Marsanne, which is less commonly grown on sandy soil in such hot weather. Delicate and fresh, yet robust with good weight and a waxy finish. Laurent says the salinity of the wine contributes to the body/tannic structure. This is a great introduction to orange wine!

Food pairing : Some fish like whole grilled seabass with braised fennel and herby lentil salad.
