Fourme d'Ambert

£4.15

Fourme d’Ambert is a classic French cow’s milk blue cheese from the Auvergne region, recognisable by its tall cylindrical shape. Fourme d’Ambert is one of France’s oldest cheeses, with its production dating back over 1000 years, when France was under Roman occupation. The word fourme derives from the latin forma, meaning shape, and was the old French word for fromage. Ambert, of course, relates to the town from which the cheese originates.

The texture is smooth, buttery and velvety. It has a fruity, woody aroma while the flavour is buttery, balanced and earthy, complemented by the very gentle spicy blue mould. Fourme d’Ambert is a great blue option for cheeseboard but also works well in salads or tarts.

Ingredients : Milk (cow's), salt, traditional rennet. Unpasteurised.

Allergens : Milk
