Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre

Chateau Fontvert is located in the village of Lourmarin in the Luberon Mountains of Provence. These mountains provide protection from the fierce Mistral wind and create the perfect condition for healthy vines to grow ripe grapes.

Most vineyards nowadays are a maze of steel wire trellises designed to make it possible for harvesting machines to shake grapes from the vine as efficiently as possible. But many vines grow quite happily on their own - these are known as bush vines and can produce exceptionally ripe grapes that make lovely wines.

As in most of the region, rosé is the biggest driver and the style is unmistakably Provençal with the fruit being pressed direct and fermented in cuvée.

Food pairing : This will be great with fresh goat’s milk cheeses like Banon or Picodon  or a simple, citrusy salad.
