50% Sauvignon Blanc, 50% Sauvignon Gris
Domaine Séailles has been a family-owned estate since 1961 and lies in the commune of Mouchan in the heart of Gascony, an area known for Armagnac production. The estate is made up of 25 hectares, planted with Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. They also grow Ugni Blanc, which is reserved for the Armagnac they still produce. The farming has been organic since 1998, which makes them the first in the area to convert.
Typical Sauvignon, but nothing like the mass-produced watery wines that are synonymous with the region. The Presto spends 8 months in concrete, which makes something clean and pure. Great tension and salinity, with the texture and balance coming from the Sauvignon Gris. This is a good wine to have with some grilled white fish on the leaner side.
Tasting notes : Light, bright, fresh and grassy. You get a lot of the classic Gascogne characters of white fruit, elderflower and citrus.
Food Pairing : This is our go to recommendation for South/South East Asian food pairing on a budget, especially for aromatic flavours like ginger and lemongrass. Fresh Goat’s cheese works also very well !
