100% Chenin Blanc

Michel Autran is a rising star in the natural winemaking scene in Loire. He names his wine 'the quiet hell' after the barren silex soils and steep slopes of his vineyards: peaceful, but incredibly difficult to work.

This wine is 100% Chenin Blanc. Following a stringent selection to discard any grapes affected by noble rot, the wine is vinified and aged for two years in old 400ltr barrels. There is a pure and crystalline quality about it, a striking, almost electric energy. It is perfectly balanced despite the lack of residual sugar, and displays an intense mineral backbone that drives the long, saline finish.

Tasting notes : Quince, Peach, Minerality. Crisp acidity with a weighty, creamy texture.
