Grenache Blanc, Macabeu, Muscat d’Alexandria, Carignan Blanc, Clairette, and more ! 

In the rugged hills of the Roussillon, a quite winemaking revolution is taking place. The region was once known for producing seas of fortified 'Vin Doux Naturel' but its declining popularity has seen vineyards abandoned and towns depopulated. However, the region is dotted with parcels of old vines capable of producing extraordinary wines. These have attracted producers such as Jean Phillipe Padié, who farms 18ha of vines divided up into 30 parcels around the town of Calce. 

Milouise is Padie's top cuvée named in honour of his grandparents Milou and Louise made from vines that are over 100 years old with exceptionally low yields. The grapes are co-planted and this field blend harkens back to traditional styles of white made before grape varieties were grown separately. 

Tasting notes : Pear, white peach, mineral. Richly textured but wonderfully fresh. Plenty of ageing potential.

Food pairing : Terrines and patés ! And also a cheese with a little kick, like Ossau Iraty.
