100% Ribolla Gialla

Sfera is short for ‘atmosphere’ in Italian, and they are on a mission to bring 'cosmic verve in a litre bottle from the Alps to the Mediterranean'. They work with a roster of certified-organic growers across Italy, making fun wines that are an Italian take on the easy-drinking 'vin de soif' of France. Each cuvée is produced on a limited basis and is made entirely from the grapes of a single grower to maintain a relationship between the terroir and wine.

This Bianco comes from I Clivi, based near the Italy/Slovenia border, 30km from the Adriatic sea. I Clivi is a pioneer of the area Colli Orientali and has 70 years old vines of Ribolla Gialla in the estate. All the vineyards are located in a unique area characterized by La Ponca: a soil type typical of Friuli, characterized by alternating layers of marl and sandstone, derived from Eocene marine sediments. The results are elegant, fresh, vibrant wines.
