Pinot Noir

Domaine Derain is a historic estate in Saint-Aubin, now managed by Julien Altaber and Carole Schwab of Domaine Sextant. The transition has kept the same biodynamic philosophy and hands-off approach that made Derain’s wines so distinctive, while adding Sextant’s signature precision and energy.

Le Ban ’23 is the red expression of the Domaine: pure, vibrant Pinot Noir grown on clay-limestone soils. It captures both the elegance of Saint-Aubin and the liveliness that defines the Sextant touch.

Tasting notes: Red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, with gentle spice, fine tannins and a savoury, mineral finish. Juicy and beautifully balanced.

Food pairing: Lovely with roast duck, mushroom risotto, or a simple plate of charcuterie and goat’s cheese.
