Chenin Blanc

Domaine de la Paleine has produced Saumur wines in the AOC Puy-Notre-Dame for over a century. The current owners, Laurence and Mark Vincent, took over in 2005 and have been practising biodynamics (Demeter certified) since 2017.

Their 32ha consist of a mix of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc and sit atop a vast 1.5km cellar carved out of the soft, white tuffeau rock the area is renowned for. Besides being an incredible sight in and of themselves, the cellars provide the perfect conditions to age and store their wines throughout the year.

Made from hand-harvested grapes grown on chalky clay soils, it undergoes fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel and is aged on its lees for added complexity. The wine offers floral and citrus aromas, with a palate that balances richness and freshness, supported by vibrant acidity and a long, mineral finish
