Poivre d'Âne is a natural wine collective founded in 2013 by three friends passionate about wine. Operating primarily in the Languedoc region of southern France, Poivre d'Âne collaborates with partner vineyards to produce additive-free, organic wines that reflect the terroir and traditional grape varieties of the area.
The collective's philosophy centers on creating "living wines" that are free from chemicals and additives. They utilize indigenous yeasts from the grapes themselves and employ minimal sulfur dioxide, if any, during fermentation. The winemaking process emphasizes gentle extractions and brief skin contact to preserve freshness and maintain lower alcohol levels. All grapes are hand-harvested from organic vineyards.
Borriquito is made with 100% Cinsault grapes sourced from a parcel situated in a cool microclimate, contributing to its freshness and drinkability.It offers aromas and flavors of ripe cherries, raspberries, and violets, complemented by subtle smoky notes. The wine's rounded tannins and fresh acidity make it an excellent choice for casual sipping. A real ‘Glou-GLou’ wine!
