Bugey is a tiny appellation: the entire region is 500ha, 1% the size of Burgundy. But we believe small is mighty and Bugey is no exception. Phillipe Balivet established his domaine in 1967 among the rolling hills and pastures of Alpine France. Today, it is run by his children Cécile and Vincent. 

Bugey Cerdon is a traditional style of sparkling wine made by chilling the fermenting grape juice and bottling it before allowing the fermentation to finish in the bottle. This is known as "méthode ancestrale" or Pet-Nat as introduced to the region by Phillipe himself! 

Tasting notes: A red fruit explosion. Fresh with a touch of sugar making this perfect for spicy dishes. 

Food pairing: Great for spicy food - try with a Pad Thai, Korean BBQ or a Madras.
