Mas des Agrunelles is situated north-west of Montpellier up on the Terrasses du Larzac. Unlike the typical wines of the region, Frederic and Stephanie make delicate and subtle wines with gentle extraction. Rather than focusing on varietals, each of the 12 Mas des Agrunelles cuvees showcases the terroir of individual parcels covering 25ha and a range of soil types from fractured Jurassic limestone to red marne. Biodynamic principles are followed right down to bottling on fruit days, and when possible on the descending moon.

Bomba is a Pet-Nat (short for Pétillant Naturel). The very first sparkling wines were made in this way: winemakers would often bottle their wine before all the sugar had fermented. When the cellars warmed in the spring, the fermentation would continue (or the bottle would explode). The result is a slightly fizzy, occasionally hazy, and always fresh style of sparkling wine.

Tasting Notes : Yellow apples, toast, zippy. Extremely light and delicate at only 10.5% alcohol, with a fine fizz. Easy to love !

Food Pairing : On the lighter side, so would make an excellent aperitif. Salted almonds would work a treat !
