After growing up in Burgundy and studying in Montpellier, Jean-Philippe relocated to the tiny village of Calce in Roussillon. Just 20 minutes north of Perpignan, Calce is known for its strong community of natural winemakers, which even includes their Mayor !

There is something special about Calce - the confluence of sea, soil, and climate has a habit of producing exceptional wines. Here, Padié farms 18ha, some owned and some rented, and also buys fruit from some villages a little higher up into the hills.

Come Prima is a new cuvee from Jean-Phillipe, and we’re very glad he got around to making it ! He ferments a blend of Syrah and Grenache on native yeasts before a short elevage in stainless steel tanks. The idea was to keep the wine light, pure and juicy – Rousillon’s answer to Beaujolais Nouveau.

Tasting Notes : Brighty and juicy with a refreshing mix of red and black fruit. We recommend chilling it a little bit before serving.

Food Pairing : We’d opt for some duck rillettes or Jesus saucisson here !
