Most of all these are fantastic wines that demonstrate the skill of these winemakers, a value that is close to all our hearts at Provisions….
Petit Gaby 2019, Mas Theo, Rhone, France (Red)
Located in the northern limits of the Southern Rhone near Montelimar. Mas Theo farm 50 hectares of native grapes, using strict biodynamic principles, giving their wines a lift and freshness not often associated with this region.40% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 20% Carignan, this wine is aromatic, with red plums and savoury leather.
Velue 2017, Johannes Zillinger, Weinvertel, Austria (Red)
100% Zweigelt, Austria’s most widely planted black variety. Weinvertel is a region in north-east Austria where Johannes Zillinger farms biodynamically. This wine spends 16 months in large oak barrels before release. A fuller-bodied version of a Zweigelt, flavours of plums, milk chocolate and dried herbs. Expect moderate tannins and a lovely smooth, silky texture.
Metisse 2019, Sextant, Burgundy, France (Red)
Sextant is the project of Julien Altaber, a negociant winemaker based in St Aubin, Burgundy. Julien’s Metisse cuvee is made with Gamay from Patrick Besson in Beaujolais. This is a very fun and fresh wine with a high acid and drive. A wine for anytime and anywhere! Bright, energetic palate with crunchy red fruits.
Vronski 2018, Slobodne,Hlohovec, Slovakia (Orange)
100% Sauvignon Blanc. Agnese and Miso farm 17ha of vineyards organically and keep bees to improve their vineyards biodiversity. A little skin contact for some of the grapes. Nectarine, grapefruit, floral. Fresh with a textured palate, a very unique expression of a Sauvignon Blanc.
Nicot 2019, Mas Des Argrunelles, Languedoc, France (White)
50% Grenache Blanc, 50% Marsanne. Mas Des Argrunelles is situated on the Terrace du Larzac, north-west of Montpellier. Frederic and Stephanie farm 25ha of parcels following strict biodynamic principles Fruit and freshness on the palate, easy going and very drinkable.
Bourgogne Blanc 2018, Domaine Didon, Burgundy, France (White)
Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. Farmed from 40y/o vines from vineyards farmed biodynamically by wife and husband team Naima and David Didon. Aged in old oak barrels for 12 months. This is a beautifully elegant yet complex wine that’s very drinkable!
