Cabecou de Rocamadour, or simply Rocamadour, is a very small disc of unpasteurised goat’s cheese from the South West of France, in the Perigord. The cheese takes its name from the village of Rocamadour in the department of the Lot (East of Dordogne). The Rocamadour we get at Provisions comes from the Mas de Catal which is a family owned fromagerie that was created in 1992. They have around 200 goats and also make another popular cheese that we stock at Provisions, La Croix Cathare.

Cabecou de Rocamadour has a slightly dusty, pure white rind. The cheese is soft and goaty, with a richness on the palate that has notes of milk, hazelnut and dried fruits. When well matured, blue mold can form on the rind and the cheese becomes saltier, and possibly more picante.

Ingredients: Milk (goat's), Salt, Traditional Rennet. Unpasteurised.
